And there I was, standing at the pavilion, watching other people’s mums bring food and goodies for their children. I stood there until the echoes faded, until the laughter, cheers and visiting hours came to an end. Even then I quietly sneaked out to wait just a little longer… hoping she might still come even if it was just one minute late. But where was mine? I longed for those moments.
