I get it because I lived in a city and the noise pollution caused me constant levels of stress. When I finally moved out of the city or when I would leave for a weekend I noticed I would feel so much calmer. So I totally get it. People don't realize how much that can impact you.

i think since most people live in cities they forget or drown out the noise but it seems a lot of the data centers are being built in rural communities so they immediately noticed the increased stress it causes, crazy.

Lived in Santa Clara for about a year after they had put 4 data centers. It was noisy enough overall that I didn’t realize it was data center noise that was subconsciously bothering me. But I felt like I could never actually relax, and houses were getting cracks all through the walls and ceilings. Glad I moved away.

Data centers are likely a multi-pronged problem to include: ai stealing knowledge with the assistance of schools and universities, stockpiled surveillance without warrants that will never disappear, government sanctioned land & water grab, bitcoin mining at our expense.
