Mine took 3 coats 🤣 don’t worry girl we all learn from our first new build 🤣 I put silicone cork down my stair case at one point and wondered why I couldn’t paint over it 😳😅

I made the mistake of using valspar paint doing this and even with two coats on undercoat primer it scratches off 😔 crown trade fast flow quick dry satin is way better!

unfortunately it won't last all the woodwork would of been done in oil based paint and youre using water based which will react with the oil hence the dispersing. the way to go is rub down apply a coat in zinsser b-i-n then undercoat in dark grey then top coat. been a professional decorator for 20 odd years. I hope that helps.

A good adhesion primer would have helped. Now it’s on just sand it down with 240grit between coats and it should be ok..

youre first mistake was buying Valspar. be warned, it could cost you a lot of money if it fails! p.s. Just get a professional....it'll cost even more for a decent decorator to go over any bad work!
