📖 Het verhaal van de zachte correctie door Imam Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn رحمه الله When Shaykh Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhab traveled to Makkah, he encountered an elderly and respected scholar teaching the people in the Haram. The scholar's lesson impressed him, but as the gathering ended, the scholar made a statement that Shaykh al-ʿUthaymīn identifies as shirk. Rather than correcting him publicly or speaking harshly, Shaykh Muhammad approached him with humility and wisdom. Presenting himself as a beginner, he asked permission to recite from the Qur'an. By reciting verses from Surah Quraysh and asking a series of thoughtful questions, he guided the scholar to recognize the inconsistency in his own statement. The scholar immediately accepted the correction, thanked him, and made duʿāʾ for him.
