Kinda gross that the medical assistant isn't cleaning all the rooms before leaving. When I worked in an outpatient facility, the last thing I did before clocking out was clean each room with sani wipes including both handles of each door. Then every room got checked too.

I had this exact thing happen when I was a kid. 4:30 appt, put in the room at around 4:45 and around 5:10 my mom realized the office closed at 5. luckily caught the last person in the lobby on their way out so we weren't locked in. but its completely insane because ive never worked a job were you dont sweep the building to make sure there aren't customers somewhere before locking up???

Hi, fire inspector here. There should never be a scenario where an occupant cannot egress a building. And egress from an emergency exit should never require special knowledge or a key. Hope this helps!
