FORECLOSURE CANCELLED. NOVEMBER 3, 2026. No attorney. No help from the system. Just one financially depleted, silver-bulleted, pro se mother fighting to prevent the foreseeable loss of her million-dollar home, funded through gifts from her family to her alone. MY house. My claimed separate property. An asset already divested from me on paper under a contested divorce decree, while my appeal remains pending. The foreclosure was a foreseeable consequence of prolonged litigation. I warned repeatedly throughout the mortgage forbearance I personally arranged. I sought emergency stays and judicial intervention to prevent imminent, irreparable harm. And what did the system that helped create this crisis do to prevent it? Absolutely nothing effective. Instead, I had to fight that same system at every turn just to obtain equal access and due process. Motions returned. Procedural obstacles. Court coordinator silence. I repeatedly emailed demanding judicial review of my emergency TRO, which went unaddressed for approximately 48 hours. I found myself citing the actual law to court coordinators, clerks, deputy clerks, and anyone else standing between my filing and a judge. I wasn’t asking for special treatment. I was demanding the rights and procedures the law already guarantees. My TRO was finally signed on Friday, October 30. The foreclosure was scheduled for Tuesday, November 3. And even then, I had to deal directly with the lender and foreclosure attorneys, entirely on my own, to secure cancellation. All while fighting for my child, defending against a vexatious-litigant motion, pursuing my appeal, and trying to recover from three previous attorneys whose representation I believe failed me. Meanwhile, the opposition’s efforts to restrict my litigation have received attention while my emergency efforts to prevent the loss of the disputed property faced delay after delay. And then came this email: “The sale date set for 11/03/2026 has been cancelled.” Not because the system rescued me. Not because opposing counsel or the respondent stepped up. Because I refused to let procedural obstruction, silence, and delay determine the loss of my home. What good is due process after irreversible harm has already occurred? What good is an appeal if the very asset under dispute is gone before it’s decided? I shouldn’t have had to fight this hard just to be heard. But I did. And this time, PRO SE ME STOPPED THE FORECLOSURE. The litigation isn’t over. But my house will not be sold at Tuesday’s scheduled auction. Sometimes you have to become your own superhero. #ProSe #DueProcess #EqualAccessToJustice #beyourownhero #JudicialAccountability
