@babysleepteam: When your baby is overtired and fighting sleep, it can feel like absolutely nothing is working. The fussiness, the back arching, the constant waking — it is exhausting and defeating for any parent. But when a baby tips over into that overtired state, cortisol builds in their body — a stress hormone that makes it even harder for them to fall asleep. The goal at that point is simple. Get them calm and get them to sleep. Here are 6 tips to help you do exactly that. Go for a contact nap — let them reset in your arms, a carrier, or on your chest. This is not a long term solution but it is a reset Use motion — rocking, bouncing on a yoga ball, a pram walk, or even a car ride can all help calm their nervous system Dim the lights and reduce stimulation — lower your voice and avoid eye contact. FOMO babies especially struggle to switch off Try a quick feed — even if it is not feed time, this can be a really effective way to calm and soothe Offer a shorter awake window next time — prevention is everything here Stay calm even if your little one is not — your baby feels your energy If you are feeling stuck and need a clear plan, I have a sleep program for every stage: Newborn Sleep Program 3-4 Month Sleep Program 5-18 Month Sleep Program Link in my bio to find the right one for your family. #overtiredbaby #babysleep #babysleeptips #babyfightsleep #sleepconsultant
