I’m a director and for sure ratios don’t make the room manageable all the time but sometimes it comes down to trying a new classroom management style to make it manageable. Sometimes we’re so used to running a classroom a certain way that when the kids don’t respond the way we think they should it feels like chaos. But that’s when a director should be stepping in to help coach a classroom in my opinion.

Being expected to handle a handful of kids while still having to take kids potty , transition from lunch to nap , keep kids safe , especially with toddlers who bite …no matter how many kids , there needs to be 2 teachers at all times ..

we always say it's not the number you have, it's the children and their needs you have. you could have 20 children and be fine with just 2 of you... but you could have 10 with 2 of you and it be very challenging.

what i find insane is friday before they go to school is a 1 to 8 ratio then they start school on the monday and its 1 to 25 ratio. its insane
