system data is just caches, logs, and temp files meant to help keep your phone running smoothly. your best best for freeing up storage is delete/offload some apps or a factory reset

I had the same issue. Delete all of your social media apps and then reinstall them. It frees up all the junk everything accumulates over time.

As someone who worked at Apple, just factory reset your phone and restore it from a back up. That stores old iOS updates/data that is no longer needed.
