When I self-published my first book, I asked a large bookshop in my area if I could host my book launch at one of their stores (they’re a chain). It would have been at no loss to them, since I would’ve brought in all the copies and customers. I’ve never forgotten how rude they turned the moment I told them I was self-published. Their tone immediately changed, and they never again responded to any of my polite emails or calls. On top of the self-doubt that already follows you as an author, this was just another blow. Now, seeing this video and the support people have for indies feels incredibly healing. Thank you for letting us chase our dreams ❤️
