@matt_brickman: Could NYC's hottest day on record come next week? It's not out of the question. 106° is the hottest temperature ever recorded in Central Park, that was 90 years ago. In 157 years of weather records there have been only 31 days of 100° or warmer, and we could see two of them next week. All I can say is, I’m glad I took vacation this week and I don’t have to deal with the heat wave. I’ll be home chilling in my air-conditioned house watching movies while people are sweating their butts off going to work. All I can say is good luck to all the people going to work in this heat.
