something i heard: apparently in some foreign dubs, ruby was given male va and was presented as a man to make garnet a hetro relationship. that's why (despite ruby being masc and saph being fem) for their wedding, Rebecca gave sapphire the suit and ruby the dress making their relationship undeniably wlw

i remember sobbing during jailbreak when they did the garnet reveal. it was the second time i had seen wlw representation in media i watched, the first being korra and asami holding hands and looking at eachother(which i also sobbed to because it was just SO amazing that we were able to get queer rep even if all they were allowed to do was hold hands). it's amazing we've gone from only being allowed to show handholding(and they had to fight for that too) to queer characters being allowed to be openly in love!
