absolutely not. I was just telling my husband how my brain can't comprehend how many kids have gotten a ride or stayed the night when I've never met their parents. I'm always offering "do they want my number/address etc" and 99% say no.

growing up, my parents would not allow me to go to anybody's house unless they met the other child's parent as well as spoke to the other child's parent. I hated it growing up, but thank God they did because it kept me out of some really shitty situations.

I think it depends on where you live and how old the kid is. I live in a very very small town. I know rumors, and know the suspicious people. My oldest is 11 and it hasn’t come up yet where I haven’t met the parents. But I’m sure it will and as long as I have the parents number and have had a conversation with them. I would be ok with it. But I feel like 15-16 unfortunately you’re more than likely not going to know all your kids parents or have met them before they’re going to their house.

No sleepovers at all for my kids even though I know the other parents and I would never send my kids over for a playdate without meeting parents first.

No never I’m an introvert except when it comes to my kids I will suck it up and pretend I’m not panicking at having to interact with new people just to make sure my kids can go to a birthday party, play date whatever. I need to know who they’re with and how to contact them if needed but preferably I would be there too or they would be at my house instead. That’s just the way my mom was and what seems to make the most sense to me. Never would I ever not know what the person looks like, their names, address, vehicle, etc I need to know!

My daughter literally walks up to kids tells them “we’re besties now” they go play for an hour or whatever while we’re at the park or something and then has the nerve to be like “mom can X come spend the night” ummmmm whhhat?? I will go over to the other parent and pretend like I’m asking but I’ll phrase it like- “my daughter wants to have X spend the night but I wanted to check with you to see if maybe we need a few more playdates first!?” Thank goodness they catch on 😅 and my daughter hasn’t yet🤣

I just had this talk with my husband.. One of our daughters is 12 & has so many friends just being dropped off. Her friend last night was dropped off down the street 🤷 She thinks I'm crazy cuz if she goes anywhere (which is rare) I tell her she can't go unless I meet/talk to the parents.

I would need to meet the parent first and see the house. With the friends parents I know and have been to I’ll drop off at the door and say hi to parents. Right now she’s 10. I think
