Why do I get that weird feeling like the parents have done more damage to this poor girl then being let on. Second, this young lady is over the age for drinking. She’s not a minor. The only thing I could say is that they could kick her out of the house. But they can’t force her to go to see a doctor. She’s an adult.

just a heads up to everybody. the officers 100% wrong. if she gets mail there that's her home whether she's paying rent or not and just because it's the parent's house does not give them the right to go through her bags. that is actually her personal property she's the over the age of 18. this is crazy.

If she's maintained living there, rent or not, she's considered a "tenant at will". Her personal space and belongings would be off limits and the parents would need to follow formal eviction procedures to remove her.

The cop is wrong. You can have tenant rights without paying rent in almost all states if you have been living there for an extended period of time or receive mail there.
