@greaterkurdistan1: Did you know one of the world’s most important archaeological sites is in Kurdistan? Shanidar Cave, located in the Zagros Mountains near Barzan, is where scientists discovered the remains of at least 10 Neanderthals dating back around 65,000 years. One of the skeletons showed signs of severe injuries but lived for many years, suggesting Neanderthals cared for their sick and injured. Another discovery sparked the famous “Flower Burial” debate, leading many researchers to believe Neanderthals may have buried their dead with rituals. These discoveries transformed our understanding of human history and proved that Kurdistan is home to one of humanity’s greatest prehistoric treasures.
