@dani_travelling: 🧂 Fun fact This isn’t a lake. It’s part of the Onslow Salt Operation, one of Australia’s largest solar salt projects. Seawater is pumped into a network of shallow evaporation ponds covering hundreds of square kilometres. Over several months, the Pilbara’s intense sun and dry climate naturally evaporate the water, increasing the salt concentration until salt crystals form and can be harvested. The ponds are only a few centimetres deep, creating mirror-like reflections that often make the landscape look almost surreal. 📍Onslow, Western Australia
