We Cyclists must also be willing to get over at the next possible place. I see cyclists all the time just slogging along at 15 while there's a line of cars behind them.

Sometimes I get the hate but having biked the last couple years I gotta say some people (men) take it too far. I’ve been followed, yelled at, swerved into, cut off, tailgated in bumper to bumper traffic and almost hit. They act like having to wait 5-10 minutes until it’s safe to get around a cyclist gives them a right to act in a way that could kill someone.

I hate cyclists who break laws in ways that are extremely unsafe (like the guy who diagonally crossed a busy intersections while he had a solid red) and I hate drivers who either break the law in unsafe ways or generally drive in an inconsiderate manner, like the cars who routinely almost ran me over when I was crossing the crosswalk on the sidewalk - not even crossing the busy street - and turned while I was literally in the crosswalk. I have been almost run over as a pedestrian following the law more times than I can count it's truly insane.

The video immediately after this one was about Hannah Rapp 😞Even when cyclists are dicks, they aren’t operating a deadly weapon. Drivers are, and it’s horrifying how many drivers don’t seem to understand that.

Yes, cars need to exercise caution wherever they can. I also think more cyclists need to pick roads, specifically canyons, that they CAN maintain speed on. You cannot ride Decker or Malibu canyon and coast…it is dangerous for all involved. I hate seeing people pick roads entirely out of their skill level. No problem with learning but not every road is a learning road. Some roads are not for everyone.

Learn to ride defensively. Car bike incidents are predictable in a number of situations. Anticipate and avoid.

I was on a mountain road that was like almost entirely blind corners waiting behind a group of cyclists for a straight away with better visibility to pass, and they got angry at me and kept trying to wave me through around a blind corner. 🙄
