I find it weird just moving on from an argument, I like to talk about what happened too

I would 1000% just rather move on lmao. I’ll apologize and promise to do better but if you wanna talk it out more than that I start feeling like I’m being cornered and berated and idk what that’s about or how to stop it so 🫠

The lack of conflict resolution is painful lol. When I was little I really struggled to apologize though because of the environment I grew up in and never experiencing what reconnection and conflict resolution even looked like. I love your videos so much, thank you.

This is exactly what it is like having a conversation with my mom.
And it put me on the extreme opposite end of the spectrum. I would often apologize for things I had nothing to do with. It has taken me a long time to recognize when it is appropriate for me to take responsibility and when it isn't my responsibility. And that vacuum of waiting for someone to do the right thing is so uncomfortable.

My mom! Growing up, if I ever brought up a grievance, she’d dismiss me. And if I tried to tell her something wasn’t fair, or ask her to take accountability for hurting my feelings, she’d say “JUST DROP IT!” I also heard something similar from my parents when I was processing the end of an abusive relationship. I was deeply hurt and traumatized, and tried to turn to my parents for support, only to be told “you’re still dwelling on this? You need to get over it already.” It had been less than a week.

My husband is Italian. His mother never told him something negative about him. For example, if I talk to him about something he forgot, he doesn’t like that and will give me the silent treatment. I can’t deal with that. It makes me feel so frustrated. It is very difficult for me to. Sometimes I get so hangry …

This is my partner. Even if she does “apologize” it somehow lacks the words I’m Sorry.

when my partner and have a disagreement I have to take a step back from him,but he'll want to talk like nothing happened and I want to talk it out and he says he doesn't want to,so i just ignore him after that, and gets annoyed when I shut down and I tell him u make me do that and then I go back to being silent.
