@merrykennedy647: You've spent years, and a small fortune, on products that promised to finally fix your face. The dermatologist nobody books twice is the one who tells you to do less, not buy more. Four things they actually believe, that the beauty aisle would rather you never heard: 1: switch to a single-blade razor. The multi-blade ones tug each hair and slice it off below the skin line, which is exactly how you breed ingrown bumps and that permanent razor rash. A single blade cuts level with the surface, and most of the irritation you blamed on 'sensitive skin' simply stops. 2: keep a urea cream for the rough patches — the sandpaper elbows, the cracked heels, the little bumps on the backs of your arms. Urea dissolves the dead build-up and pulls water in underneath. It does in a week what years of generic body lotion never touched. 3: you are allowed to wash your hair as often as you like. Daily washing does not 'strip' it; greasy roots come from washing too little and using the wrong product, not from washing too much. Whoever told you to tough out a week of grease was guessing. 4: those tiny grey dots on your nose are not blackheads, and they never will be. They're sebaceous filaments, normal and structural, sitting on every human nose. You cannot scrub or squeeze them away, and trying just inflames the skin. A cleansing oil softens and manages them; nothing erases them, because they were never a flaw to begin with. Notice the through-line: every real fix is gentler than what you were already doing, not harsher. The face you've been attacking with steps and serums was usually fine underneath the attack. Most 'bad skin' is just irritated skin that was never given one calm week to be left completely alone. Strip less. Protect the barrier. And stop paying a premium to wage war on a face that mostly just needed a truce. The skin you've been chasing with products was often hiding right underneath them the whole time.
