For yes, we are always blamed for having distanced ourselves, for having changed, but they do not seek to understand why. The answer to this distancing is this: when we took the initiative to tell you what we were feeling, you neglected us and minimized our efforts. That is how one begins to isolate oneself without really wanting to, by seeking to create a protective barrier, but it breaks us even more. Imagine a person alone, with no shoulder to lean on in the dark, feeling no emotion other than sadness and guilt, and no one notices or, worse, they do not care. That is how one falls into a silent depression, having difficulty with social and even family interactions, no longer able to express their feelings for fear of being ignored once again.
This is what I say: instead of making us feel guilty, question yourselves first. Because all that remains for them are dreams to survive, imaginations, and, sometimes, debates with themselves. So, if a person becomes physically or intellectually weak, do not judge them, because you know neither what they are going through nor what they have been through. That is what I had to say, because we have normalized this fact too much. I hope to be the voice of the voiceless, I am also my own voice.
