You know what's funny about owning a big, beautiful house? After about a month, it just feels like any other place. That pool you'll probably use for two weeks, then hardly ever again. The formal living room might sit empty most of the time. In reality, you'll spend most of your time in the bedroom and the kitchen. I've realized that, to me, a huge house isn't the goal anymore. All you really need is a nice 2 or 3 bedroom home that's comfortable, well-designed, and easy to maintain. I'd rather have a smaller home I truly enjoy and more money invested than a mansion filled with rooms I never use.
