They say it’s voluntary and then when you do your taxes they charge it back. I did that last year and then did my taxes and they said I have to pay $5,000 back because of that

So taxes are "voluntary" but if you don't pay them then you voluntarily decided you would get massively fined. Don't believe everything on the internet folks

what he is saying is adjust your withholding so at the end of the year you dont owe or get a refund. adjust it to balance after payroll tax deductions. you'll take home more on your paycheck verses a once a year refund.
