POSTING THIS FOR AWARENESS Yesterday, I experienced something no woman should ever have to experience—being touched without my consent while on a bus. I didn’t get to record the actual act in this video, but I know what happened to me. Natutulog ako at nagising na lang na may humahawak na sa inner thighs ko nang paulit-ulit. Same thing happened when we’re at the barangay. And what’s even more upsetting was the people there kept trying to convince me to just settle and let it go, na singilin na lang ng pera ‘yung lalaki. I was relieved when my Ates (Lia and Akina) and Kuya Weng came and gave me the courage to formally report it. So, to every woman who has experienced unwanted touching, harassment, or anything that made you feel unsafe, HINDI KAYO OA. May karapatan kang magsalita. May karapatan kang magreklamo. You do not owe your harasser forgiveness just because he begs for it. Please don’t be afraid to ask for help and stand up for yourself.
