I just got back into writing again for the first time in a decade and I was wondering if you had additional examples on how to give a pause versus just filler. e.g. Would you suggest things like character introspection or describing scenery (in a way that makes sense in context of course), or by providing a moment of dialogue? Maybe like a character sitting on a park bench with a cup of coffee and processing what happened and how they feel so readers can get a glimpse on more of who they are and how they're changing?
