@queensland_travellerz: Japan is in no way a cheap holiday destination. It is extremely expensive in every single way. The only thing that's good is we get tax-free shopping and the food is cheaper in the supermarkets but not at the restaurants

That’s pretty standard fees at any hotel proving a laundry service, regardless of country. Generally the charge is like $10-30 per item!

Yes what the hellllllll, they wanted to charge me $90 for a pair of jeans, so I just hand washed in the bath and hung out in the bathroom to dry. But a can of vodka lychee was $1.10

plenty of laundry matts around with wash and dry machines cheap af and hotels have washing machines which wash and dry no need to pay the hotel to do your laundry.

We stayed at an Airbnb in Shinjuku. It had a washing machine that was also a dryer. After washing the load it would dry our clothes. Thought this would’ve been the norm in hotels and airbnbs 😳

Can we all agree that my experience obviously isn't going to be everyone's? I'm just warning people so that they know when they book a hotel to get one with a washing machine or close to a laundromat.!!!! I'm not about to do work on my holiday thank you very much. I want my clothes washed for me and if it means I've got to pay extra then so be it. I will pay it. I accounted extra in my budget for things like this.

Laundromats in Japan (コインランドリー, koin randorii) are plentiful, mostly open 24/7, and highly efficient. A typical combined wash and dry cycle costs roughly ¥800 to ¥1,200. Modern facilities often dispense detergent automatically and accept cashless payments like Suica or Pasmo, alongside ¥100 coins.

What are you talking about? We just went to Japan for over 2 weeks and didn’t pay more than $15 in coins to wash all of our laundry

I’ve lived in Japan for many years, and stayed all over in hotels hundreds of times and every hotel I have stayed in had both washers and dryers 🤔

Another option is an airbnb, we got an airbnb (A house in a residential area) and he had a washing machine and dryer. It was a 3 bedroom one bathroom but 2 toilets.

We’ve been a few times to Japan, and everytime we just go to the coin laundromat or stay in airbnbs that have washing and drying machines

I based our entire trip around airbnbs with washer/dryers in one or a shower room with the heater. It made our trip soo much easier. We did spend an unspeakable amount on taxis but I thought all trips were reasonable.

We just left Japan & it was in every way a cheap holiday destination for us. So cheap we’re going back next year lol. Our washing/drying was $22 the hotel had a coin laundry in it. When we went to Turkey on the other hand 6kgs of washing/drying cost us $101NZD 😭

we stayed in a hotel hatchobori Tokyo they had drier and washing machine which takes coins-it didn't cost much. Only used Taxi for airport departure and trains were easy to understand when searching on phone google maps.At one point we used up all our money on the Suica card to tap in and out of trainstation and they kindly took us in the office and they reloaded it for us to get back to hotel.

I found Japan to be a cheap holiday 😂 I made sure our hotel had a washing machine and dryer, it was a 2 in 1 machine and the train system is so easy to use, google maps tells you exact details and which one to catch
