@nationalspacesociety: This is one of the most detailed maps of the universe ever created. What you're seeing is a flythrough of the DESI (Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument) map, featuring 14.7 million galaxies, each placed in its correct three-dimensional position as seen from Earth. Every point of light represents an entire galaxy, many containing billions of stars and countless worlds of their own. Credit: NOIRLab #DESI #space #Astronomy #spacetok #spacecore

And yet we are the only living species? on one single planet? in one single solar system, with billions after billions of other soler systems in one single galaxy? I don't believe for a second that we are the only ones out there.

I still remember my teacher trying to explain the scale of the universe. He said it’s nearly impossible for the human mind to grasp but he told us to imagine our entire Milky Way as just one grain of sand in the Sahara Desert. Every other grain of sand would be another galaxy…each filled with billions of stars and countless planets of its own. It’s crazy how small we truly are.

There are around two trillion galaxies in the seeable universe. That number 14.7 million does not scratch the surface.

So Ai has to be the best way to find life and I’m sure it’s already being used for that purpose, may not be long now that we find the proof ! But the distance means that what we find could already be extinct

it's crazy to think how small we are in proportion to this map. if the galaxies are smaller than pennies, and we're just a planet in a solar system inside one of those tiny galaxies 🤯 and STILL my biggest worries are bills, that if I don't pay, I won't have this even tinier little apartment 😭

Let’s put this into perspective. 14.7 million compared to 2 trillion is almost unimaginable. 14.7 million is less than 0.001% of 2 trillion. Now let’s scale those numbers into seconds: * 14.7 million seconds is approximately 170 days. * 2 trillion seconds is approximately 63,400 years. Think about that for a moment. We didn’t just go from days to a few more days or even a few more years—we went from 170 days to 63,400 years. That’s the staggering difference between 14.7 million and 2 trillion.

And yet, my soul still found hers. 14.7 million different galaxies moving in the night sky. But under our very own - she is my whole universe.
