POV: The office building was almost empty when you arrived. Rain tapped softly against the tall glass windows of the city skyline, the sound mixing with the faint hum of computers and the distant buzz of fluorescent lights. It was already past midnight, but Jake was still working. Again. You stepped out of the elevator quietly, hugging the sleeves of Jake’s oversized hoodie closer to your body. The smell of coffee and paper instantly filled your nose as you walked through the dim hallway toward his office. You already knew what you’d see before opening the door. Jake sitting behind his desk with his tie loosened, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, brows furrowed while staring at his laptop screen. One hand lazily holding a pen while the other rubbed his tired eyes. And just like always— The moment he noticed you, his entire face softened. “Baby?” he said quietly, surprised. “Why are you here this late?” You smiled sleepily while holding up the paper bag in your hand. “You forgot dinner again.” Jake leaned back in his chair, letting out a quiet laugh. “Caught me.” His voice was tired, raspy even, but hearing it still made your heart flutter after all these years. You walked toward him slowly, your sneakers muffled against the carpet floor. The city lights reflected beautifully behind him, making him look unreal. Like one of those scenes in movies people replay over and over because it feels too warm to let go of. “You’ve been here since morning, haven’t you?” you asked softly. Jake only grinned guiltily. “Jake.” “Okay, okay. Maybe.” You sighed dramatically before setting the food down on his desk. “Your employees are scared of you, you know.” Jake raised an eyebrow. “Scared?” “They said you haven’t smiled properly all day.” “Maybe because my wife wasn’t here.” Your cheeks immediately warmed. Even after marriage, Jake still flirted with you like he was trying to make you fall in love with him for the first time. And honestly? It worked every single time. “You’re cheesy,” you mumbled. “But you like it.” Unfortunately, he was right. Jake reached for your wrist gently, pulling you closer until you stood between his legs. His hands rested naturally on your waist while he looked up at you with those soft brown eyes you could never resist. “You look cute,” he murmured. “I literally came here in your hoodie.” “Exactly.” You rolled your eyes playfully, but your smile betrayed you. The office was quiet again after that. Comfortably quiet. The kind of silence that only existed between people who loved each other deeply. Jake finally opened the food while you sat on the edge of his desk beside him, swinging your legs lightly. Then, naturally, you started talking. About your day. About the random cat you saw near the apartment building. About the old lady at the grocery store who called you beautiful. About accidentally burning toast this morning because you got distracted dancing in the kitchen. Jake listened to every single word. Not once looking bored. Not once checking his laptop. Not once interrupting you. His eyes stayed on you the entire time like you were the most important thing in the world. “And then Sunghoon called me dramatic just because I almost cried over that dog video—” “You did cry.” “It was emotional!” Jake laughed softly, the sound warm and deep. God, you loved hearing him laugh. You continued rambling happily while Jake absentmindedly played with your fingers, tracing circles against your skin. “And then we went to that café near the river and—” Your words suddenly stopped. Because Jake kissed you. Soft. Slow. Completely unexpected. Your eyes widened slightly before melting into him almost immediately. His lips were warm, gentle, familiar. The kind of kiss that didn’t ask for anything except closeness. When he pulled away, your cheeks burned bright pink. Jake looked equally affected, his eyes half-lidded as he rested his forehead against yours. “What was that for?” you whispered shyly. comsec+ #enhypen #jake #4u #fypシ゚ #makemefamous
