It’s unfortunate because this episode quite literally paints Rhaenyra as less capable than Aegon was. Because in season 2, it’s safe to say that Aegon wasn’t a good ruler, but he was willing to get stuff done. Meanwhile we have Rhaenyra here just frozen, and she is following Daemon’s lead, when she at the very least should be the one directing daemon.

Respectfully most of these complaints seem more about what you personally wanted than the show making mistakes. Rhanyras actions and basically every ones this episode makes sense, she just lost her second child in this war. It’s crazy to say she doesn’t have any agency, she literally does and it’s clear at the end of the episode she’s finally embracing the crown, it’s called a character arc.

cast is wasted fr, why do they rob rhaenyra of literally every bit of agency. It would hit different if this is what they were trying to do, to show an incompetent ruler... but they're just not good enough at writing to be that self aware. she has no fire in her, not like in season 1, I'm not sure why they took this route for the character

If you judge this episode in the context of an adaptation you will not rate this episode highly or any episode in the entire series aside from maybe the first 4 episodes on the first season. I remember you made a video saying that this is fan fiction and I agree and I think it should be judged in that context. This was a really good and enjoyable episode. The book is good but it has become completely separate from the show for the most part. As an adaptation this episode and show are a 0 and so is every other asoiaf show. As a standalone show using the books as a shell it’s a 8/10 or 9/10. It was very entertaining with really good acting.

alicent telling people what to do but keeps saying helena is queen and they must listen to her orders was hilarious and i agree with you i didn’t like how weak they made rhaenyra :/ idk why this show is scared of making nyra unlikeable i wish they had her ordering the gold cloaks, the whole time i kept saying girl SCREAM say something!!
