@nazarnama: A French woman and her five children have been rescued in Pakistan after she alleged that they were held in captivity by her husband for more than 12 years. According to police, 54-year-old Sylvie Yasmina said the family moved from Australia to Pakistan in 2014 and was allegedly confined to a small room in Bara, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where they endured years of physical and psychological abuse. The rescue was carried out after one of her sons managed to leave the house and report the matter to police. Authorities say the family was found with visible injuries. The husband, a Pakistani national, has been arrested, while the woman and her children have been moved to a shelter in Peshawar. Imagine how beautiful and resilient Pakhtoon women are, despite living in a society where many face cruelty—not only from their husbands, but also from their sons, brothers, fathers, and even strangers in the streets who view them with disrespect.
