@opalandhome: When a dog is such a huge part of your life, I have found that finding ways to continue to remember them is the most helpful. My husband, daughters, parents, family, friends, and all of you have all been so amazing during these past few weeks. Grief hits you randomly, and I still have moments where I think “oh I have to let Abu out” and a split second later I remember I don’t. It’s weird. I did the same when I lost my first dog March 2026. I couldn’t go into my backyard without crying or feeling sad. My mom gave me an idea to set up a birdfeeder, a birdbath and hummingbird feeder in our backyard. It was a good idea, now I go back there and enjoy all my new friends and think about my pups!
