@rob_goudie: When are you setting up a new self-managed Superannuation fund? What are the first decisions you’ll need to make is whether you utilise individual trustees or a corporate trustee. Our advice over the last 20+ years we’ve always recommended corporate trustees for number of reason for one of the main reasons is making administration far easier in the future as individual trustees. The asset titles and ownership documents will need to be updated from the individual trustees name to include a new individual trustee or even moving to a corporate trustee and this is because a single member trustee cannot have one individual trustee. It must have at least two. So while it is slightly more expensive to set up with a corporate trustee at the beginning it is money well spent for the simplicity of future changes that every fund will face as members come and go.
