People don’t get why his artwork holds so much value but it’s also representative of the style of painting he introduced to the world and the artistic movement it caused. His artwork may not look like much but where he painted it, what time of his life he painted it, what materials he used…all affect the value

Everyone assumes that the bidders are wealthy individuals. For much of this stuff, especially a Picasso, the bidders are museums for their collections, corporations for their offices etc. So, while yes, there are many very wealthy individuals who could afford this, they aren’t the only bidders.
