bus driver should give them another ticket for the next bus . that's would the end of argument. buses have a exclusively spot for pushchair.

And the trains too so many wheelchair users being abandoned or disregarded waiting for a ramp at the stop they’re trying to get off at and someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think they pay more for someone who’s supposed to be there to help them

When my kids were babies, 30+ years ago, we had to fold our buggies to get on the bus.

My son uses a wheelchair I was told to wait for the next bus and it was raining at the time, he said he couldn’t ask them to move their pushchairs and I asked if someone could move and they all turned their back on us, my son has so much anxiety now using public transport.

literally signs everywhere telling people to fold up there buggys if there is a wheelchair user, if they dont want to fold it they need to get off. how does it work for it to be prioritised when nobody else is there the word prioritised means you come before everyone else

What we are instructed to do is use the announcements first, ‘A customer requires the wheelchair priority area please make space’ if nobody moves then ‘A customer requires the wheelchair priority area the bus will wait while this happens’. Again if they donr react we are told to go and ask the person/ people in the area to move atleast TWICE if they don’t we can’t force them and we have to call the controller to let them tell the driver behind there is a wheelchair user waiting

this is why I don't take buses because it's happened so many times when I was a kid. So I don't use buses because people are just so inconsiderate

Not true at all. Buggies are used for newborns and disabled children and can not be always folded. Will you pay for the ticket back if they get off? How is it not discrimination against disabled children?

Also, sorry, as I'm Mum to my wheelchair user daughter, I'm quite vocal when getting her wheelchair aboard, usually I ask the driver if he can do the announcement if I have to, but I usually just say out loud 'Hi whoever owns this pushchair can you help please?' it's not an angry demand, it's just asking them to help out. They almost always do, we get my daughters wheelchair in, they park next to it, and if there's an empty buggy they park by the door for a few stops. But, to save all that stress and hassle we get the taxi or don't go out.
