You HAVE to measure your food. There’s no other way to accurately track it.

My Life :
Most people do not understand how little 1200 calories is. They’ll pour themselves a bowl of cereal and count it as “one serving” when they actually have 5 servings. They’ll eat a salad but add 400 calories in dressing

People also forget the calories in the oil they cook with or the beverages they drink. Those count too, people.

I agree but also understand that not all bodies respond to food the same way. With all due respect, to assume that every single person in the world processes food exactly the same is naive: diabetes, gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, peanut allergies, hoshimotos, thyroid issues, pcos, etc. The body is very complicated .

I’m down 20 lbs by stopping soft drinks and coffee and liquor I never realized the majority of my calorie intake was liquid when I would say “I barely eat”

You don’t realise the amount of calories there is in everything til you start to properly track them. So sometimes you think you know “roughly” what you’re eating but for weight loss especially, you need to be precise..

Jeremy Ethier just did a study with different body types and no one really knew how many calories they actually ate. But I love his videos and how he goes into depth with things :)

Weight loss will always be a calorie game, if your gaining or not losing weight it because you’re eating more than your basal metabolic rate plus whatever you burned for the day, nothing else to it

When I actually tracked my calories, I noticed that those five little grazing sessions add up to about extra 1000 cal a day.

Drinks. Just because you're drinking it doesn't mean there's no calories sometimes those drinks are more than an entire meal

Used to think my PMOS just made it impossible for me to lose weight. No, I was just grossly underestimating my intake. Once I started weighing my food, that’s when I started to finally lose weight. Highest weight that I know of was 256lb, now maintaining around 175lb. Yes, PMOS made it harder because my BMR was much lower than it should be, but thermodynamics still apply. I had to eat ~300cal less than the online calculators estimated, but it still works
