@iamlaurajackson: Sometimes the best opportunities are the ones you don't plan for. A last minute decision to head to Cannes Lions turned into one of the most valuable weeks l've had in a long time. Yes obvs, there were incredible talks and events, but what l'll remember most are the conversations. The coffees that turned into ideas and the introductions that became opportunities. The chance encounters that only happen when you put yourself in the room!! In a world obsessed with scale and automation, this week reminded me that relationships are still one of the greatest assets you can build. Business is still (and always will be, I believe) deeply human. I have always believed that the best partnerships come from genuine curiosity, showing up consistently and investing in people before you ever need anything from them. You simply can't replicate that over email or behind a screen. If you're wondering whether it's worth making the trip, sending the message, introducing yourself, or saying yes to the invitation ABSOLUTELY do it. My life motto is WHY NOT!!
