Last week I had a 121 w my manager and half of it was a show and tell of his pottery after asking me how my pottery classes are going, and the other half was discussing what kinds of ceiling fans we like. With links shared. It was too hot for a real work meeting, hence the ceiling fan discussion.

I like to organize it by hot topics we need to talk through or that need review, then I list “current projects & progress” status updates with links to relevant files, and include a growth & development section when relevant.

I always put a brief outline agenda together, shared it with my boss the day before. Half the time they would arrive 20mins late due to a previous meeting, leaving 10 mins to complain about their day, and finish by dumping work on me. If I actually got the full 30mins, it was just a full brain dump from the manager of things they wanted.
