@sbsnews_au: Members of the Venezuelan diaspora living in Australia are doing what they can to help with rescue and recovery efforts as they wait for news from their loved ones. Isabella Plaza and Freya Holloway are using social media to send donations directly to family and friends in Venezuela who have been devastated by the twin earthquakes. The twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela on Thursday have left some 50,000 people missing, 6.8 million people impacted, and at least 1,450 dead. The United Nations' death toll is expected to increase dramatically.

It is with a broken heart that we see the resilience of the Venezuelan diaspora in Australia, turning pain into solidarity. Isabella Plaza and Freya Holloway are examples of hope, mobilizing support networks in the midst of tragedy. May the strength of each donation reach those who need it most, and may the world not turn its back on this pain
