When I went on maternity leave with my first, I genuinely believed I'd just have to make it work. I thought maternity pay was my only option. I thought going back to work was just something every mum had to do when the time came. I had no idea there were other ways I could start creating more options for myself. Then suddenly... The end of my maternity leave was here. I remember looking at my little girl thinking... I’m just not ready! But I went back because I truly believed I didn't have a choice. Looking back now... If I'd known then what I know now... Would things have looked different? When I found out I was pregnant again, I knew one thing for sure... I wasn't going through that heartbreak again. So I decided to start learning about digital products and Canva. Things like planners, checklists, templates and invitations I started with ready-made products because I was a complete beginner, then gradually learnt how to create my own too. That one decision has since allowed me to extend my maternity leave, reduce my hours at work and create extra income from home around my girls. That's why I share this. Not because I think every mum has to do what I did...
