Come with me inside Dushanbe’s brand-new National Theatre 🇹🇯✨ It had only opened a few days before my visit, and somehow I got the chance to explore inside. From the moment you enter, this place feels MASSIVE. Huge marble pillars, giant decorated doors, traditional Tajik artwork everywhere, and then a local guy who didn’t speak English basically became my unofficial guide. 😂 I had no idea where we were going, so I just followed him. And that turned out to be a very good decision. First we entered one of the smaller halls, covered in intricate gold-colored decoration and artwork created by Tajik craftsmen. Then a conference hall that honestly looked more like something from the United Nations. But apparently we still hadn’t reached the MAIN theater… Then the door opened. 😳 WOW. The main auditorium has 2,500 seats, an enormous stage, multiple levels of balconies and space for a full orchestra. Standing down there genuinely made me feel like a tiny ant. And this place is much bigger than what you see in the video. The National Theatre has 7 floors, including two underground levels, three major halls, rehearsal spaces, recording studios, workshops for costumes and stage production, a theater museum, VIP reception rooms and even accommodation for visiting performers and guests. There are 17 elevators and 6 escalators inside. 🤯 Construction started back in 2015 and the theater officially opened on August 24, 2026, ahead of Tajikistan’s 35th Independence Day celebrations. The building was designed to combine modern theater technology with traditional Tajik architecture, art and national motifs. After walking through it, I honestly think calling it a theater doesn’t do it justice. This is a masterpiece. Tajikistan, you keep surprising me. 🇹🇯❤️ #tajikistan #dushanbe
