I’m going to go ahead and say no; Hasbro continues to fleece the fans and collectors of Transformers. Now don’t interpret that as me not liking this figure. I like him a lot. Glad I waited for this version for so long. Love the deep purple. Love the sculpt. Love the Shockwave classic eye that has excellent light piping. But he also feels…dated? Minimal? Like this is all you could come up with Hasbro? There’s not much going on with this figure outside of his aura. And it’s not like he went through a complete design and engineering process. He is a simple redeco / rerelease. This says a lot about the state of the Transformers toys “budget.” I guess that means if you already have Shockwave from an earlier Generations line, all your missing out on here is a possibly more toon accurate sculpt. But let’s best honest. Hasbro has not been consistent with that at all, so it doesn’t matter. If you’re in desperate need of a Shockwave for your collection, though?
