A lot of people think VS Code and Visual Studio are the same thing, but they're actually built for different purposes. VS Code is a lightweight code editor. It starts quickly, uses less RAM, and is great for web development, scripting, and working with multiple programming languages through extensions. Visual Studio, on the other hand, is a full-featured IDE. It comes with built-in tools for debugging, compiling, testing, database management, designers, and enterprise-level development. Because it loads many services in the background, opening Visual Studio can suddenly increase RAM usage, CPU activity, and fan speed. If your laptop heats up when launching Visual Studio, that's usually because it's indexing projects, loading extensions, restoring packages, starting background processes, and preparing debugging tools. The larger the project, the more resources it needs. Meanwhile, VS Code often feels much lighter because it loads only what you need. So if VS Code feels like a bicycle, Visual Studio is more like a fully equipped truck. Both get you to your destination, but one carries a lot more tools along the way. #programmingmemes #codingmemes #developerlife #developer #vscode
