Beyond the basic courtesies and minute long polite talk- I want nothing to do with people on a plane. Just the "Hi, hello, you're next to me? Cool, cool, nice to meet you." then SILENCE should proceed for the duration of the flight- unless your trying to scoot past me OR the hostess is bringing food/drinks.

As a plane talker i learned to try once with a nice normal opening then shutting up if they don't respond. THIS is INSANE!!!
