Position can change pressure on the spine, hips, blood vessels, and digestion. That is why side sleeping becomes the main position later in pregnancy. ✅ LEFT SIDE - supports comfortable blood flow - can reduce pressure from the uterus - often feels better for digestion and swelling ✅ RIGHT SIDE - also acceptable for many pregnant women - useful when one side becomes uncomfortable - helps avoid staying flat on the back all night ✅ BENT KNEES - reduces strain on the lower back - helps the pelvis stay more aligned - works even better with a pillow between the knees ❌ FLAT ON THE BACK - less ideal later in pregnancy - the heavier uterus can press on major vessels - may increase discomfort and circulation pressure 📌 Simple rule Side sleeping is the goal. Not perfect sleep. Just return to the side when waking up in another position.
