People don’t always realize these types of allocations have to be “designed” because not everyone has the same requirements. Especially when getting older & may need elder care, nursing home etc. I’m retired (early) and I have to think of what will happen to my funds/assets once I have any health needs or have to go to a nursing home. My dad is now in a nursing home & we had to liquidate all his assets to pay for his care & stay there. Then apply for Medicaid* once all his funds got used up. Those funds just under a million got used up FAST! & then Medicaid charged a penalty…

I added my Son as beneficiary on all my bank accounts. I put together a notebook for him. My will, deed to house, all bank accounts with pin #, TSP info, Annituity account info, life insc policy, copies of beneficiary and PODs forms and anything else I think he may need. Also, included who to contact to access everything. Took a retirement class, they cover all this info. Get your paperwork in order. ❤️

You can put a beneficiary down or like my wife and I do, our names are on both accounts for everything. The heartache is enough while grieving.

I was able to withdraw my mom’s checking account because it was under 10 K. POD and TOD are not available in Pennsylvania.
