@jt.doscher: Check out this single leg balance (SLB) exercise for your toddler! Shoutout to my friend Emily who showed me this one with a recent patient of hers. We LOVE the prolonged balance, cross-body coordination, direction following, fine motor dexterity, and consistent engagement of this activity for an age that can be fairly distractible. SLB with assistance (2-3 seconds) starts to develop from 18 months to 2 years. SLB unassisted (2-3 seconds) is from 2.5 years to 3 years. I love to do this around 2.5 years old because they are likely doing quick SLB but not holding it for very long! I love this to help toddlers learn balance bikes and scooters! Try this, save it, or share it! Follow for more child gross motor tips. #pediatricphysicaltherapy #grossmotordevelopment #toddlerbalance #singlelegbalance #toddlerplayideas
