@breathe_history: Following the English victory at Agincourt on 25 October 1415, Henry V found himself commanding a weary and heavily outnumbered army that had achieved one of the most remarkable successes of the Hundred Years’ War. Thousands of French nobles and knights had been despatched or captured. In the aftermath, Henry ordered the wounded tended and the battlefield secured. English soldiers gathered prisoners, banners, weapons, and other spoils while confirming the scale of the victory. The triumph greatly enhanced Henry’s reputation across Europe. Seen as a courageous and capable warrior king, he returned to England in glory. Agincourt strengthened his authority and laid the foundation for further successful campaigns in France. #History
