Totally agree after a death or other tragic event, there is no debrief, just get the next patient and carry on regardless, staff are so unprotected from metal health trauma. 😢

the pressure from middle and senior management is off the scale right now... we are desperate to do right by our patients but we don't have the resources or support from up above and you constantly feel like you aren't doing enough. it's really soul destroying

The reason it’s happening is bcos the pressure from seniors and the bullying from managers plus the colleagues and racism that goes on is so bad . I left after 30 years I am broken and emotionally scared for ever.

I completely agree. As a NHS doctor there have been numerous times when I honestly wanted to quit.I am now at the tail end of my career and as I work part time and only 9-5 it is bearable

As a therapist you have to have supervision to cope with the information you hear and see, this costs at least £140 a month. Anyone in the medical/care industry should receive this for free.

This information doesn’t surprise me. Been working in admin roles for 23yrs for the NHS, it’s got worse and worse, not enough staff, but an ever increasing workload. I’ve cried so many times when I’ve got home, worked so many unpaid extra hours.

I’ve realised you have to aggressively prioritise self care at work in a way I wasn’t comfortable with to start with. Took me a while to learn this lesson but it was an important, if not pleasant, one

It’s not just Docotrs and Nurses in the NHS who struggle with this. All kinds of medical and nursing healthcare professionals struggle with this throughout their careers 🥺 That’s why it’s so important to always be kind and work together as a team 🥰
