I think this is a problem in general with critiques of anything in the fantasy space. The word realism should be replaced with consistency. A fantasy story doesn't need to be realistic, it just needs to be consistent with the established rules of the world. The only real exception to that should be if there is some narrativly significant reason to break those rules. Instead of saying to someone "that's not realistic" they should say "thats not consistent with the rules you've set." Then of course its also important to be able to recognize story choices made purely with an audience in mind that has no in world explanation. Warframes having big butts for instance. That's for us. We like big butts.
