They lost because of the way the World Cup is scored. They didn’t lose any games, but every game ended in a draw, so they didn’t win any either. This isn’t the first time someone got eliminated this same way.

You typically have to win a game in order to advance. they tied every game in the group stage. 3 points doesn't get the job done

The drive from la to Mexico is shorter than the teams that went from Dallas to Seattle. Travel schedule was also agreed upon before the tourney by FIFA. They also didn’t get enough points to advance.
