I have this super cool thing called a tremlocker in my Strat- I do think there was a version for Floyds but sadly it seems like the guy making them doesn’t do it anymore. Works as a completely normal trem when off but blocks the bar completely when on, I love the thing! If you do have a Strat I think you can still find them on eBay and I could not recommend them more

Floyd roses are simple and are great. You just have to know what you’re doing. Also you could have left the neck on?

my floyd rose never had anything other than springs in them, never had any issues once I learned how to set it up properly of course

Mines had zero issues. If you feel resistance when you move the whammy bar you have it installed incorrectly. First page of the manual states to center it until there is zero resistance.

Love my floyds, easy to setup and restring in about 10 minutes, they are not hard, proper springs for tuning and guage
